West Alabama Food and Wine Festival Returns to Northport for Third Year
The streets of Downtown Northport will once again come alive with the aromas of gourmet dishes and the clinking of glasses as the West Alabama Food and Wine Festival returns for its 2025 edition.
📅 On Sunday, April 27, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Main Avenue will transform into a vibrant gathering place where food lovers and philanthropists come together for an unforgettable evening of indulgence and impact. ✨
For the third year in a row, the festival will take over this charming stretch of Northport, building on the momentum of 2024’s record-breaking success. That year, festival-goers not only savored exquisite bites and fine wines but also raised an impressive $60,000 for two deserving causes — Turning Point Alabama and the West Alabama Food Bank. Each organization received $30,000, a contribution that made a tangible difference in the lives of those they serve. 💖
“The services we provide at Turning Point are literally life-saving and life-changing,” shared Derek Osborn, the nonprofit’s executive director. “Being a beneficiary of the Food and Wine Festival has been a huge blessing, allowing us to expand our reach and provide even more support to survivors on their journey to independence.”
In 2023, the festival’s Board took a bold step — opening applications to local 501(c)(3) nonprofits and committing to two years of funding for selected beneficiaries. This year, alongside Turning Point Alabama, the Humane Society of West Alabama (HSWA) will receive support for the first time. For HSWA, a small but mighty organization that has been rescuing and rehoming neglected animals for over 50 years, the opportunity is a game-changer. 🐾
“The Humane Society of West Alabama is beyond thrilled to be part of this event,” said Brian Gaerity, the organization’s executive director. “We operate solely on private donations, and every dollar helps us provide medical care, shelter, and second chances for the animals that need us most.”
Since its inception in 2013, the West Alabama Food and Wine Festival has raised over $210,000 for nonprofits across the region, proving that good food and good deeds go hand in hand. ❤️
Looking ahead, Board President Carolyn Strawbridge is optimistic about what’s to come:
“The energy and generosity of this festival never cease to amaze me,” she said. “We’re honored to support these incredible organizations and look forward to making an even bigger impact in 2025.”
