If you know me, you know I love a lot of things: pugs, the color pink, The University of Alabama sports, board games, the list goes on and on. Three things are often found at the top of my favorites list though: cocktails, Taylor Swift, and spending time with my people. The process of making the Lavender Lemon Haze Martini helped me to combine all three!
It started last September at my friend’s, Sabrina Keating, birthday party. The restaurant was serving a specialty cocktail called a Lavender Lemon Drop, and it was absolutely delicious! Sabrina is a self-taught, amateur mixologist, and she was ready to take on a new challenge – putting her own spin on this drink. She got to work, and I got to be her researcher and development assistant.
The process of coming up with new cocktail recipes is always fun as Sabrina is dedicated to perfecting the taste and presentation of her creations. The result is the recipe you see in this issue, and the name of her cocktail was inspired by our playlist for our work and its photo shoot. I believe that every playlist should start and end with Taylor Swift, and this day we are focused on Swift’s latest album, Midnights, whose first track is fittingly titled Lavender Haze. So in honor of Sabrina, Taylor, and this wonderful concoction, we present the Lavender Lemon Haze. Please feel free to drink at midnights, when you need to shake something off when you are feelin’22, and for evermore!
